This is an idyllic lake above Mojstrana. When the cement factory on the site of the “Fabrka” started operating in 1893, the chalk for making cement was dug not far away. After the cement works closed down, the basin, with its fresh inflow from the stream, became a local bathing spot for undemanding locals. Today, the lake in the middle of the forest is used for sightseeing and resting.
Lake Kreda is a small artificial lake with a beautiful pastel green colour. Locals believe that rubbing the chalk still in the water has healing effects.
The lake is located along the footpath from Mojstrana to the Peričnik waterfall. Along the Triglavska Bistrica River, you will pass the Pr’ Želez’k Tourist Farm. At first, the asphalted path eventually turns into a macadam one. The path also narrows. At Ros, turn left up a narrow path and you will soon reach the beautiful lake Kreda.
