Kekec, Rožle, the herbalist Aunt Pehta, the scary Bedanec and the wisdom-filled Vitranc … who doesn’t know our local heroes and Vandot’s stories about the adventures of the always good-natured and playful Kekec and his friends. We invite you to join us on a family trip to Kranjska Gora!
Kekec Land and, as a new addition, Mission Elixir
You will take a special bus called Bedancbus to visit KEKEC LAND and meet the other heroes. It is adapted for driving on winding forest roads. There are forest paths leading to Kekec’s house and his goats, but be warned that you will have to walk past Bedanc’s hut.
“Do you know what else the Bedanec is most afraid of?”
If you’ve forgotten, that’s okay, because you’ll learn many other interesting things through the antics of Kekec. At the end, you will be rewarded for your efforts and courage with a delicious snack at Aunt Pehta’s!
If Kekec Land is for our youngest children, MISSION ELXIR is for older children and adults, because you have to stretch your brain to solve the tricky puzzles. It’s a good thing that if we get stuck in the middle of a tricky challenge, we can seek help from the heroes of Kekec Land. It’s important that as we wander along the paths guided by the mysterious map, we find all the ingredients for Pehta’s recipe, because only in this way will we save the world from the dark force that would like to poison our planet!
Trip in the bag
If in the Elixir Mission we are looking for the ingredients for a recipe that will save the world, in the Trip in the bag, we turn into real adventurous treasure hunters, carrying the ancient secrets of our places! On the way to the treasure, you will see numerous waterfalls, lakes and taste local delicacies. To discover the treasure, it’s a good idea to take your time and make your own itinerary. If you don’t have a day or if the weather is bad, you can continue your treasure hunt the next day. You will then complete seven tasks and visit locations such as Martuljek Waterfalls, Zelenci, Lake Jasna and the Russian Chapel. At the end, you will find the treasure and something that every one of us lacks at some time or another. Do you know what that might be?
But in the end, you will find a treasure and something that each of us lacks at some time or another. Do you know what that might be?
“We all know the shepherd boy Kekec, but what about the shepherd boy Gregec?”
Are you familiar with the story of the young shepherd boy Gregec and the villagers, Sablja, the creature and the Žili’s Anka, known far and wide? You will meet them as you follow the trails of the Triglav Fairy Tales. The storyteller Bukovnik will be happy to tell you an interesting story as he takes you past farmhouses with interesting murals and unusual natural caves. Along the way, you will meet village characters, and each one will tell you what it was like when he met the kind-hearted rays who kindly gave him instructions on what to do to ensure a bountiful harvest, or what happened when he woke up a mountain man who was indescribably strong on the climb up to the Peričnik waterfall. The Triglav fairy tales carry the wonderful message that not everything that glitters is gold in the valley, but that life breathes from every bush and rock in the mountain! It may well be that you find a squeak of pennies along the way and rescue the enchanted little girl. You’ll be fine if you carry a childlike playfulness that opens the door to a world of imagination.
“Have you already met the Furious Pehta?”
This time we are not referring to the herbalist Pehta from Vandot’s fairy tales, but to the one-and-a-half-kilometre-long summer toboggan run, where you can climb a 300-metre vertical drop in less than five minutes. You’ll squeal with joy like Kekec as you ride down the slope of the Vitranc towards the valley! If speed isn’t your thing, you can ride down to the valley in your own style, watching the green landscape and the mountain peaks rising above Kranjska Gora in between.
A forest that enchants you
Whether you’re 3 or 60, the forest enchants you with its secrets. When you walk past the tall spruces that have always reigned in the forest, you feel a special energy. If you’re a (perpetual) child, with a little imagination you can start believing in the stories of elves and forest fairies hiding in the treetops or making their homes among the moss-covered roots. Children in the magic of forest experience enjoy the challenges that the forest puts in front of them during playful forest adventures. The special feature of the Forest Kindergarten is that it takes place in all weathers and is particularly attractive in the rain, when well-kept secrets come to light. In exploring the forest, children will learn to identify plant and animal species, ecosystems and connect with nature in different seasons through play.
Pišnica Sports Park
The sports park, located along the Pišnica River, has the unique shape of a typical Slovenian trestle and is an ideal place for outdoor exercise. Being covered, it allows you to exercise even in bad weather.
“Do you have the courage to go down the children’s zipline?”
The Pišnica Sports Park is located just a stone’s throw from the Pišnica River, which cools the atmosphere in summer while you sweat and exercise. It is not only suitable for exercise and children’s adventures, but also for the preparation of top athletes as a complementary workout in the fresh mountain air.
Heroes of Planica
Who are the heroes of Planica and where are they hiding? You will find the answer to this question if you take a ride to the Planica Nordic Centre and go on a hunt for the heroes of Planica. During your exploration, you will take a chairlift to the top of the flying hill from which the ski jumpers bravely descend and fly when the World Cup ski jumping finals take place in Planica!
“And do you know the hero who designed one of the world’s largest flying hill?”
You’ll have to find the answer to this question and many more if you want to make it to the finals of the game with an ending that will remain a mystery for now! We can only trust that in the Heroes of Planica game, you will turn into Peter Prevc for a few moments and fly from the top all the way to the bottom of the flying hill. Well, almost… with a little imagination and a little help from modern technology, you’ll be there!
