Dovška baba is an 1891 m high peak in the Karavanke Mountains, which is extremely popular for families with small children. You can climb Dovška Baba from the village of Dovje, where the path leads you through forests, across meadows and along tracks. The extremely beautiful, easy and signposted trail leads you through the forests to the top, where you can enjoy views of the Julian Alps, the Karavanke Mountains and neighbouring Austria.
Before climbing Dovška Baba, you will reach the Dovška Rožca mountain, where a shepherd’s hut awaits you. Cattle graze around Dovška Rožca from mid-June to mid-September. A heavy bull is not excluded. From the hut, the trail continues up the slope behind the hut, where it follows a side ridge. When you reach the main ridge, just walk along the grassy ridge to the top of Dovška Baba.
Dovška Baba is known especially for its ski touring, as its grassy slopes offer a real treat for downhill skiers in winter.
