We set off from the bus station in Rateče. First, we head south, cross the main road, and continue toward Planica. We can take either the paved road or the bike path leading toward Podkoren. If we choose the bike path, we turn right after a few metres and join Trail No. 9 along a pleasant path. In Planica, we can visit the Bloudek-Rožman ski jumping hill, where the first-ever 100-metre ski jump was made, and the world’s largest ski flying hill, where the magical 250-metre mark was also surpassed for the first time. Planica is home to the Nordic Centre, where we can enjoy refreshments, experience an adrenaline-filled zip line ride, or try a wind tunnel flight. We can also explore the history of Planica at its interactive museum, which showcases the legacy of world records, legendary athletes, and the evolution of ski jumping equipment.
