We begin our hike in front of the Kranjska Gora Tourist Information Centre. We begin with a warm-up walk through Kranjska Gora along the Borovška cesta road, passing the Ramada Hotels & Suites and Ramada Resort Kranjska Gora. Our route toward Podkoren continues on the bike path beneath the ski lifts. As we pass the World Cup alpine ski course in Podkoren, we spot a cart track on the left and take it. We continue past the double chairlift, where the path veers slightly left through Struge that it crosses. The route then follows the cart track to the meadows on the other side. Ahead, we get our first view of the Slatna drag lift in Planica. We continue toward the NC Planica hotel, just in front of us. At the hotel, we turn right toward the ski jumping hills. The trail leads us past the jumps and onto the gravel road into the Tamar valley. After a few hundred metres, we can choose either the footpath on the right or the gravel road on the left. If we connect to Trail No. 12, we can visit the second source of the Sava River and the Zelenci Nature Reserve. In Planica, we can also admire the legendary ski jumping hills, including the site of the first-ever 100-metre ski jump and the world’s largest ski flying hill, where the magical 250-metre mark was first surpassed.
