The hike begins in front of the Kranjska Gora Tourist Information Centre. At the Hotel Kotnik, we turn right and continue to the Ljudski dom Kranjska Gora, then left and toward Korona, Resort & Entertainment. At the end of the street, we turn right and pass Hotel Kranjska Gora along the road that leads to Lake Jasna. After the bridge before Lake Jasna, we follow the path between the lake and the river onto a cart track that joins the road to Vršič. From the parking lot at the end of Lake Jasna, we continue on the main road for about 100 metres. Just before the bridge, we turn left and follow the cart track along the Pišnica River toward the mountain lodge in Krnica. We have two options for our return journey. We can return the same way or take the mountainous Trail No. 8a, which connects with our approach route just before the memorial to lost mountaineers in Mali Tamar.
