On the last Friday and Saturday in August, the food truck fleet will visit us again. A real gourmet feast will take place in the car park in front of the Kompas Hotel in Kranjska Gora, as the Caravan of Flavours, a travelling street food truck, arrives and is sure to attract visitors from near and far and add to the vibrancy of the city.
The Caravan of Flavours is Slovenia’s first food truck festival. With colourful trucks and trailers full of delicacies, we stop in the city centre, put on the handbrake, fire up the ovens, open the hatches and prepare the best street food in the country right in front of your eyes.
On the morning of Friday 25 August, we’ll drive to the small meadow behind the Ramada Resort and together we’ll create a real culinary feast until late Saturday night.
Who all comes to Kranjska Gora?
Beer Bulli is a legendary VW van with cold draft beer and a radler
Gabrielo trailer has a wide menu of waffles and American fluffy pancakes
Pizza Lab has a 200 kg pizza oven in its trailer. And there’s always a line of hungry people outside the trailer
Gud Street Fud once again bakes their iconic charcoal-grilled burgers in front of your eyes, and the fingerfood is toe-lickin’ good.
Mango Tree is a mobile Thai kitchen on wheels, where you can get original pad thai
Wine Trailer is a mobile wine barrel, a wine bar full of grape joy. And they won’t let you go without a cold spritzer.
The American Burger Trailer has American street food specialities, from top burgers to premium fries
The Coffee Car is a former horse trailer where the best coffee in Gorenjska is now brewed, but perhaps even further afield
The Brincelj gin van is a vintage IMV van where the girls (ok, there’s a guy in the crew too) mix you some serious coctailes
The Yammy truck makes boutique confectionery, ice cream and yammycinkas
You won’t be able to miss Šiš food truck. Not because of the size, but because of the smells of great burgers and hot dogs
Once again, on Saturday morning, a Mini Planica will be parked on the lawn with a real bouncy hill on wheels to keep the action going among the youngest visitors. So not far from its big sister.
