The Reading Club Reading the mountains invites you to meet Irena Cerar, author of the book Sanctuaries of Nature, which won the Grand Prize at the last Slovenian Book Fair and was named Book of the Year. In this seven-week adventure, the writer, heritage interpreter and storyteller explores Slovenian habitats. And of course, her journey also takes her to the mountains, to which she has a lifelong devotion.
The discussion, moderated by Mojca Volkar Trobevšek, will be joined by Tomaž Mihelič, a mountaineer, forester, ornithologist and a great expert on mountain birds, who participated in the creation of the book. We will also host Mateja Fi, a singer and music teacher, a folk song recreator, who will add to the evening songs and melodies inspired by nature and people’s lives.
You are invited to a dose of mountain culture!
The event is organised in the framework of the Reading the Mountains reading club, which is now in its third season at the Slovenian Alpine Museum under the leadership of Irena Cerar and Mojca Volkar Trobevšek. It is organised under the auspices of the Alpine Convention and their Reading the Mountains initiative.
