After last year’s cancellation of the race in Maribor, this year’s European Downhill Cup will be hosted by Kranjska Gora, last year’s venue for the Slovenian 20chocolate Downhill Cup and the national championship. Not just any race, but the final on the last weekend of September.
Of the six races in six countries in the 2024 season, none were on the series calendar. But it has been hosted in previous seasons in Semmering (Austria) and Kranjska Gora.
The series starts early, on the first weekend of April, in Portugal. At the end of April, the legendary venue of the World Cup and World Championships, Fort William in Scotland, will follow. In June, Semmering and Aprica in Lombardy, Italy. In the summer, the only place where competitors will accumulate points is in France, in the mountain resort of Les Orres. At the end of September, the finale and the crowning of the winners of the series will take place under the Vitranc.
Kranjska Gora has already hosted European Cup races between 2015 and 2019.
The final race of the European Downhill Cup series will take place in Kranjska Gora between 26 and 28 September 2025.
More information will follow soon.
