You are invited to a lecture by renowned photographer Arne Hodalič entitled Between the Beauty and Shadows of the World – Photographic Stories by Arne Hodalič, which will take place on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 6 p.m. at the Slovenian Alpine Museum in Mojstrana.
In a lecture by renowned photographer Arne Hodalič, we will travel together to different parts of the world – from landfills in India, Colombia, Yemen, and Albania to unspoiled places where people still live in complete harmony with nature. Special emphasis will be placed on the Kogi Indian people, who have been living completely isolated from the modern world for centuries in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountain range in Colombia.
The Kogi call themselves the older brothers, as they try to protect the ecological and spiritual balance of the planet with rituals and prayers. They call all of us from the West, who often live far removed from nature, younger brothers – because we still have a lot to learn. Arne Hodalič was one of the few who had the opportunity to live among them, observe their daily lives and learn about their wisdom through photographs and conversations.
The lecture will be a mix of photos and stories—from the contrasts of our world to the amazing life lessons that can teach us how to reconnect with nature and its laws.
Come along on a photographic journey that reveals the beauty and fragility of our planet and the wisdom of the people who know how to respect it.
