Ljubljana celebrated the fourth edition of the selection of restaurants that have made it into the famous Michelin culinary guide for Slovenia.
Two stars to Kranjska Gora
Michelin judges award two stars to the Milka restaurant in Kranjska Gora, run by David Žefran. On its website, Michelin said it had noticed “a remarkable progression in their modern, mountain cuisine“, with a menu that expresses both originality and sophistication and uses the best local and seasonal ingredients. Michelin’s two-star rating recognises excellent cuisine that is worth a detour.
Chef David Žefran’s honest reaction on receiving his second Michelin star: “I’ve only been cooking for seven years, I could even say I’m learning at Milka. We are still a year after opening, but we are establishing a working culture and there is an energy among us that attracts people who are ready to do things a little differently. The Milka speciality that we want to be known for is being relaxed, honest and spreading a culture of good food, good drinks, good music. We also want to change the culture of working relationships to make them more worker-friendly.“
We are honoured that the Michelin Guide has recognised the efforts and hard work of Restaurant Milka. We congratulate the entire team on this outstanding achievement and wish them continued success.
