Kranjska Gora Tourist Board was successful in the public call for projects under the Local Development Strategy of the Local Action Group LAS Zgornja Gorenjska – BOJA. It submitted the project Kekčeve dogodivščine (Kekec’s Adventures), which received confirmation of co-financing with non-repayable funds from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) in the amount of up to 73,372.80 EUR.
Nine projects were selected among the first approved projects of the ERDF fund for the future of Upper Gorenjska – four small and five standard projects. One of them is the Kekčeve dogodivščine (Kekec’s Adventures) project in Kranjska Gora, as the project makes an important contribution to preserving cultural identity, sustainable tourism development, and creating unique experiences for domestic and foreign visitors.
The Kekec’s Adventures project is an innovative tourism product that brings the literary and cultural heritage of Josip Vandot and his legendary characters, such as Kekec, Mojca, Bedanec, and others, to life through a gamified experience. It combines elements of cultural heritage, digital technologies, sustainable approaches, and family recreation in nature. The aim of the project is to revive interest in Vandot’s stories and encourage the development of sustainable tourism products in Kranjska Gora.
Kranjska Gora Tourist Board would like to thank LAS Zgornja Gorenjska for its support. We believe that the Kekec’s Adventures project will be an important step towards enriching the tourist offer of the destination. With its launch, Josip Vandot’s literary heroes will come back to life in a modern, experiential, and sustainable way for visitors of all generations.
