The Russian chapel is one of the most important and beautiful witnesses to the story of the construction of Vršič road. A story that is gloomy and tragic, but carries a strong message.
As time goes on, every year we move further away from knowing this story and the story of Russian prisoners of war who built a road across the highest mountain pass in Slovenia in the hinterland of the Isonzo Front, which raged on the other side of the Vršič Pass, in order to supply the front with ammunition, food and sanitary materials. This is also one of the reasons why we started the project of developing an AR application on the Russian Chapel and Vršiška cesta. We are pleased to be able to present you our brand new and fresh tourist product. We have teamed up with Escapebox d.o.o. and together they developed an application which, in the words of Marko Maučec, the head of Escapebox, “translates these stories into quality and color in augmented reality”.
We are launching the AR application Russian Chapel on the market during the COVID-19 epidemic. At a time when there are shifts in tourism that will change this industry forever. When using the application, visitors will not need to handle anything other than their own smartphone, on which they will first download our application, which can be found in the Google Play online store. For IOS users, the app is available in the App store.
