From Friday, October 9, 2020, you are kindly invited to visit the inter-institutional exhibition Mountain World in the collection of the Maribor Art Gallery. We will present works created by Anton Gvajc, Maks Kavčič, Anton Nowak and Zora Plešnar. The selection includes a representative of the Viennese Art Nouveau Anton Nowak with paintings of Austrian mountains and Italian Dolomites around 1905, romantically inspired paintings by Anton Gvajc from the mid-1920s, virtuoso gouache by Maks Kavčič (1958) in the spirit of modernism and three photographic cycles by photographer Zora Plešnar from the middle 1980s.
Visitors will be able to collaborate with your art performances about the mountain world. The exhibition will be on view until November 22, 2020.
The opening with a guided tour will take place on Friday, October 9th, 2020, at 5 pm in the Slovenian Alpine Museum. The exhibition will be led by Andreja Borin, senior curator of the Maribor Art Gallery, and Saša Mesec, curator of mountaineering at the Slovenian Alpine Museum.
