Juliana and her stories, museum evening, 3 November 2023 at 6 pm
Four years after the opening of the Juliana Trail, a hiking trail around the Julian Alps and a story of trail creation almost as old as the Triglav National Park itself, the hiking trail has its own book. Under the auspices of the Community of the Julian Alps, a book by Janez Bizjak has been published: the Juliana Trail and its stories. A guide to finding peace and hidden gems of natural and cultural heritage on the Juliana Trail, which have been given their own stories in the book.
The book will be presented by the author, Janez Bizjak, architect, nature conservationist, outstanding expert on the Alps, publicist and former director of the Triglav National Park Public Institute.
Among his successes, Janez Bizjak can certainly count the designation of the park as a Biosphere Area within the framework of UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere programme and the award of the most prestigious European recognition for protected areas – the Council of Europe Diploma. He also chaired CIPRI, the International Commission for the Protection of the Alps, from 1991 to 1997, where he made a significant contribution to the ratification of the Alpine Convention in Slovenia.
You are cordially invited!
