Together we will once again drive the devil to the top of Vršič! Last year marked the eighth anniversary of the event, and this year we will be climbing the highest Slovenian pass on Saturday, 3 June 2023.
A #retro celebration of epic proportions is a must! Don’t have a bike? Go through your garage, your dad’s garage and your neighbour’s garage! Don’t have a retro outfit? Go through your mum’s, grandma’s and mother-in-law’s wardrobes!
On 3 June, the Retro Fest is happening again in Kranjska Gora. Pony bike enthusiasts will tackle the vršiška serpentines for the ninth time. The current record on the 13.5 km course is 39 minutes and 39 seconds. Will there be a new one this year?
The starting point will be under the Kranj ski slopes in the event area behind the Kompas Hotel.
The initial “warm-up” behind the support vehicle will take place through the centre of Kranjska Gora to the Vršiška road, where all competitors will line up in front of the start line. At 15:00 the car at the head of the column will cross the start line, signaling the start of the competition. The competitor in each category with the best net time will be the winner of the Red Bull Goni Pony competition.
The finish line is set at the top of the Vršič Pass. The Red Bull Goni Pony is not an ordinary cycling competition but a competition with style. A style that was popular during the production of the Rog Pony from the mid-1960s to the mid-1980s. So leave your smartphones and carbon accessories at home and join us for some retro fun.
