Join us for an evening of conversation with three selected guests who will talk about experiencing and creating mountaineering literature. All three of them have a life closely intertwined with the mountains, and together they have written a fair number of mountaineering books. Most of them can be attributed to Dušan Jelinčič, an alpinist who is also this year’s recipient of the Prešeren Fund Prize. He describes himself as a writer who also climbs. On the other hand, Andrej Štremfelj, who is a top mountaineer, a recipient of two golden ice axes and a mountain guide, has only recently taken up the pen of a writer, but he has already written two books. Rugelj himself is an all-round active publisher, writer, runner and mountaineer who regularly writes about his adventures in the outdoors, and his books have many loyal readers.
At the meeting, we will also see the documentary The Ghosts of Trieste, about the words and the wind in the life of Dušan Jelinčič, directed by Dušan Moravec, which has just been accepted into the competitive selection of the prestigious 71st European Film Festival in Trieste. TRENTO Film Festival in Italy.
All lovers of mountaineering adventures are invited!

The event is organised in the framework of the Reading the Mountains reading club, which has been running at the Slovenian Mountain Museum since March 2023 under the leadership of Irena Cerar and Mojca Volkar Trobevšek. Since then, members of the club have read Dušan Jelinčič’s Starry Nights, Andrej Štremfelj’s Crystal of Happiness and Samo Rugelj’s Triglav Trails. The Reading Club is funded by the Alpine Convention.
