On the eve of Labour Day, many bonfires are lit across the country. Bonfires on the evening before May Day, the International Labour Day, are a well-established Slovenian tradition. In Slovenia, Labour Day was not celebrated until the 20th century, and was adopted as a public holiday in 1948.
This year, the Kranjska Gora Tourist Board will organise the traditional bonfire in Kranjska Gora on Tuesday, 30 April 2024 at 6 pm at the ski slope next to the Oštarija Inn in Kranjska Gora.
Musical group Projekt will perform.
