The first skiers competed in the Vitranc Cup for the first time in 1961, and since 1968 the Vitranc Cup has been part of the FIS International Alpine Skiing World Cup. In 60 years of history, the furrow of the organization of major sporting events has been plowed, the organization has grown, and experience and knowledge have been accumulated and passed down from generation to generation. It is this tradition in the minds of the inhabitants of Kranjska Gora and the surrounding villages that gives their volunteer work a special charm and enthusiasm that makes the Kranjska Gora World Cup match probably one of the most authentic. That is why the Vitranc Cup is firmly anchored in the calendar of the International Ski Federation in the future as well.
In the 2020/2021 season, the competition for the Vitranc Cup will record its 60th performance.
