The Slovenian Alpine Museum in Mojstrana is a unique mountain and mountaineering centre in Slovenia.
A rich collection of objects with a varied historical narrative, a diversity of photographic and archival material, and an extensive specialist library offer an insight into the multiplicity and importance of mountaineering activity in Slovenia.
Take a stroll through the permanent exhibition with its inspiring concept “The Path is the Story, the Story is the Path”. The exhibition trail leads you from the call of the mountains and the preparation for the journey, through the mountain huts to the conquest of the peaks. Through eleven thematic sections, you will pass through the milestones of Slovenian mountaineering, alpinism and mountain-rescue history and get to know the motives that have always drawn people to the mountains, or feel the unique attraction and magic of the mountains. The museum’s mountain trail is marked by Knafelc’s markers. On your way to the top of the mountain of your choice, collect all the stamps through various experiences, interactive tasks, tests… and you will be rewarded at the finish line.
On the ground floor there is the Triglav National Park information point, you can buy an original souvenir in the museum shop, and your children can enjoy learning workshops in the summer.
