We begin our hike in front of the Kranjska Gora Tourist Information Centre. The trail leads us left toward Hotel Lipa. At the first intersection, just before the hotel, we turn right. The path brings us to the bus station and continues along the left side of the apartment building behind it, we go on toward the main Jesenice – Rateče road. We cross the main road and the Sava Dolinka River, We turn right and continue along the Sava Dolinka River, passing the sports park. Before the Sava bridge, we turn left by the river and follow a narrow, well-maintained path. After a few kilometres, before crossing the Jurež stream at Frtalež, we head uphill to Srednji Vrh, where we are rewarded with a beautiful view of the Špik mountain group and the Julian Alps. From there, we descend via the asphalt road to Gozd Martuljek.
