Through Čičare to Gozd Martuljek

The trail winds along the Sava Dolinka river, crossing several crossroads, and can be divided into routes 5 and 5a.

We begin our hike in front of the Kranjska Gora Tourist Information Centre. The trail leads us left toward Hotel Lipa. At the first intersection, just before the hotel, we turn right. The path brings us to the bus station and continues along the left side of the apartment building behind it, we go on toward the main Jesenice – Rateče road. We cross the main road and the Sava Dolinka River. We turn right and continue along the Sava Dolinka River, passing the sports park. Just before the bridge over the river, we head straight on a narrow, well-maintained path that follows the riverbank all the way to Gozd Martuljek. After about four kilometres, we cross the Sava Dolinka and continue to the first paved road. Here, we can turn right, cross the main Jesenice – Rateče road after about 200 metres, and take the cart track to Trail No. 6 or left to the bus station. Alternatively, we can turn left, cross the bridge over the Sava Dolinka, and follow the gravel road along the river to Hotel Špik.
