Sledding and snowshoeing

With "big feet" across the snow-covered Kranjska Gora at night...

SLEDDING KRANJSKA GORA

Sledding in Kranjska Gora is one of the most authentic winter experiences, thrilling both families and nature lovers alike. The destination offers numerous opportunities for enjoying the snow, with well-maintained and safe trails through idyllic Alpine valleys standing out. Sledding in Krnica is especially popular, where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the mighty walls of Prisojnik and Razor. The trail through the valley offers just the right amount of ascents and descents and enough space for relaxed family sledding or hours of snowy adventure in nature.

The Tamar Valley, accessible via a well-maintained trail from Planica, also offers a true winter experience. Sledding here combines the silence of a snow-covered forest, magnificent views of Jalovec, and a sense of seclusion offered by one of the most beautiful Alpine valleys in Slovenia. Tamar is the perfect choice for anyone looking for a peaceful yet picturesque winter day in nature.

For a slightly more adrenaline-filled version of sledding, the 4-kilometer forest road from the top of Tromeja towards Rateče is the place to go. This longer descent offers a varied ride through the forest, with faster and slower sections alternating. Due to its length and varied terrain, it is popular with experienced sledders and those who want a longer adventure in the snow.

SNOWSHOEING KRANJSKA GORA

Snowshoeing in Kranjska Gora is one of the most beautiful ways to escape to the peace of the snow-covered Julian Alps in winter. When fresh snow covers the landscape, forest paths and valleys are transformed into quiet white corridors that you can safely and comfortably traverse on snowshoes, even in places where walking would normally be difficult. Snowshoeing is suitable for everyone – from families looking for a short trip into nature to experienced hikers seeking longer winter adventures.

Snowshoeing has become an extremely popular way of getting around in snowy landscapes. Participants are given special “big feet” which, in combination with special bindings that allow the heel to move freely, enable unhindered movement. With snowshoes, you will stay on the surface even in deep snow, allowing you to explore undiscovered corners of the snowy landscape. To make our hike even more interesting, we will take you snowshoeing when it is already dark outside. With a headlamp and snowshoes, you can admire the sunset and the full moon, which are most beautiful in the snowy wilderness.

You will discover the wild natural environment around Mojstrana, which is an ideal starting point for the Vrata Valley, Radovna, and surrounding attractions. These Alpine valleys offer an exceptional backdrop: mighty north faces, snow-covered forests, and a feeling of remoteness that is especially magical in winter. Snowshoeing here is not just a physical activity, but also an opportunity to experience nature in its most peaceful form.
