We can start Trail 6a from the Gozd Martuljek bus station (near the Gostilna Jožica inn), heading past the Misotič Apartments and along a forest path. Alternatively, we can begin Trail No. 6 from the parking lot by the Triangel Boutique Hotel in Gozd Martuljek. From here, we first head toward Kranjska Gora, then take the forest path toward the charcoal production site and the Martuljek stream canyon. To reach the canyon, we turn left before the trail starts to climb. This route leads us through an idyllic gorge, crossing wooden footbridges and small bridges along the Martuljek stream. Soon, we arrive at the breathtaking first Martuljek Waterfall. In the final section, the trail climbs and joins a wider forest path. Here, we turn left uphill, and in less than half an hour we reach the Jasenje alpine dairy farm and the “Pri Ingotu” mountain cottage. On our return, we don’t need to turn right into the gorge again; instead, we can continue down the valley on a forest path, which can be steep in places. Near the gravel pit, we reconnect with the path we took earlier. The mighty peaks of the Špik mountain group and the Martuljek Waterfalls are outstanding natural landmarks. As such, this area was protected over 30 years ago, long before it became part of the Triglav National Park.
