The Russian Chapel is one of the most important and beautiful witnesses to the story of the construction of the Vršiška Road. A story that is dark and tragic, but carries a powerful message.

As time passes, with each passing year we grow further away from knowing this story and the story of the Russian prisoners of war who, in the hinterland of the Soča Front raging on the other side of the Vršiška Pass, built a road across the highest mountain pass in Slovenia in order to supply the front with ammunition, food and sanitary material. That’s why we developed an AR app about the Russian Chapel and the Vršiška Road.
