Cycling trail Kot & Krma

The cycling trail from Mojstrana to the Kot and Krma valleys is a real treat for cyclists who want to cycle in nature.

We set off from the car park in front of the Slovenian Alpine Museum. Continue in the direction of Vrata and after 300m turn left. Go past the blocks of flats and cross the bridge under which the Triglavska Bistrica river flows. Make a short climb on the dirt road and continue past the tennis courts. At the end of the climb, the dirt road joins the main road leading to Radovna. Turn right here – 800m from the starting point. All the way up to Kosmačeva Prevala – 845m – 3.15km.

At the pass we start to turn right onto the dirt road to the Kot valley (direction signs). All the time follow the dirt road, which goes through the forest all the way to the next crossroads – 6.2km. There is a short steep climb, after which the road levels out again. Follow it until you reach Lengarjev rovt, where there is a beautiful view of the surrounding peaks – 7 km, 951 m.

Follow the same road back down to Kosmačeva Prevala – 10.9km. Turn right for Zgornja Radovna. There is a short 300m descent to the next crossroads, where we turn right for Krma and where, just after the crossroads, a very steep descent begins, leading us to Zgornja Radovna. Follow the asphalt road to the end of the village, where there is a cluster of six houses, there is also the old Pocarjeva domačija on the right, where there is an ethnological museum. 50m further is the next crossroads, where you turn right onto the macadam road to Krma – 12,6km. The road slowly ascends towards Kovinar Cottage – 15.6 km, 870 m.

From the hut follow the road. 150m after the end of the mountain, the road starts to rise steeply and leads us to a wooden lock, 40m further on there is an outbuilding – 17.9km. This is also the highest point on our trip.

On the way back, follow the road, passing the Kovinar Cottage. In Zgornja Radovna, turn left at the crossroads onto the asphalt road and ascend to the Kosmačeva Prevala, followed by a long descent back to the Slovenian Alpine Museum – 28.5 km.

WARNING: The descent from Kosmačeva Prevala to Zgornja Radovna is quite steep.
